Terms of Service
Last updated July 17, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Recometrix (the “Service”), operated by the Recometrix team (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Recometrix is an AI visibility tool. It queries third-party AI assistants with buyer-intent questions and reports whether and how your brand is mentioned, ranked, and cited. Results are probabilistic and directional: AI systems are nondeterministic, so recurring measurements are evidence snapshots, not guarantees of any specific ranking or outcome.
2. Accounts
You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email address, or with your Google account. You are responsible for keeping access to whichever you use, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
Recometrix is a tool for businesses. By creating an account you confirm you are using it for business purposes, not as a consumer.
3. Workspaces and members
A workspace is owned by the person or company that created it. The owner can invite other people to join it and can remove them at any time. If you invite someone, you confirm you are allowed to share the workspace’s data with them. When a member leaves or is removed, they lose access, and the data stays with the workspace owner. Anyone you invite is bound by these Terms.
4. Plans, billing, and audits
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly or annual basis through our payment processor, Stripe. Eligible Track workspaces may start one seven-day trial with a payment method. Unless canceled first, the selected Track price is charged automatically when the trial ends.
You can cancel at any time from the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period or trial, and you retain access until then. Our 30-day money-back policy covers the first paid subscription invoice. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. We will email you before an annual plan renews. We may change prices, and we will tell you at least 30 days ahead by email; the new price applies from your next renewal, never the period you already paid for.
Higher-tier plans include a monthly allotment of Action credits used to generate content deliverables. Credits refresh each billing cycle and unused credits expire as described in-product.
You can also buy one-off Action credit top-ups, charged once at the price shown at checkout. Credits and top-ups are digital items delivered immediately, so they are non-refundable once purchased, except where the law says otherwise.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: misuse or attempt to disrupt the Service; reverse-engineer or resell it except as expressly permitted; use it to violate the terms of the underlying AI providers or any law; or submit content you lack the right to submit. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any generated content before you publish or rely on it.
6. Your content and generated output
You retain ownership of the brand information, prompts, and other content you provide. You grant us the limited right to process it to operate the Service. Generated deliverables are provided to you for your use; because they are produced by AI, you are responsible for verifying factual accuracy before publication.
7. Third-party AI providers
The Service relies on third-party AI systems (including those operated by OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity, xAI, and others). Their availability, behavior, and output are outside our control and may change at any time. We are not responsible for the content those systems produce.
8. API and MCP access
Grow and Agency plans include programmatic access through our API and MCP server. API keys belong to your workspace: keep them secret, rotate them if they leak, and anything done with a key counts as done by your workspace. Fair-use limits apply, and we may add rate limits to keep the Service healthy for everyone. You can use the data you retrieve in your own reports, dashboards, and tools, including work for your clients, but you may not resell or republish raw Service data as a standalone product, or use it to build a competing service. We may suspend keys that are abused.
9. Public Visibility Index data
You may use, analyze, and cite the public Visibility Index datasets in your own research, articles, reports, and tools if you credit Recometrix and link to the relevant panel or methodology page. You may not resell or republish the raw dataset as a standalone product, remove its source attribution, or use it to build a competing AI visibility service. The measurements are probabilistic snapshots and come without a warranty of accuracy or completeness.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that metrics are accurate, complete, or that acting on them will produce any particular result.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits or revenue. Our total liability for any claim arising out of the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or to comply with law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
13. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Questions about these Terms: email us.
